Artwork development is often the first stage of any job. Picket Fence Graphics has a fully computerized graphics department, providing our customers with fresh creative designs. Concepts for designs can originate in our art department or can be supplied to us by the customer, as a concept, rough artwork or as a finished design.

The Graphics department will develop design concepts that will be sent to our customers as proofs.

The client might be  immediately pleased with the art or they may feel some changes need to be made.

After the artists get client feedback they go back to the art and rework it in order to accommodate the clients changes and suggestions.

The art might go back and forth to the client may times before a final approval is given.

On dark colour garments, the first step is to print an underlay, which is a layer of white ink. The purpose of this is to allow the other colours to show up on against the dark colour when they would not otherwise do so.

If the final artwork consists of four colours, it would expand to a total of five screens and five colours in order to incorporate the white underlay.

To fully cure and fuse to the garment, our inks must go through a dryer to reach a curing temperature of 320 degrees Fahrenheit.
